Fun Envelopes - Writing Activity

For this activity, students will be commanded to write a short message and send it to different students in class. This is a very creative and interesting activity to build up social interactions between students and also to enhance their writing skills. The topic that they have to share with their friends would be about sports situations. 

Emilia wants to share her perspective or story about what sports she likes and dislikes with reasons in a form of a short message to some group of her friends.

Content Standards: 
- 4.2 Communicate basic information intelligibly for a range of purposes in print and digital media
- 4.3 Communicate with appropriate language form and style for a range of purposes in print and digital media

Learning Standards:
- 4.2.2 Make and respond to simple offers and invitations
- 4.2.4 Describe people and objects using suitable statements
- 4.3.3 Produce a plan or draft of one paragraph for a familiar topic and modify this appropriately in response to a feedback



Instructions; 
1. Teachers would have to prepare a bunch of envelopes with different colours (Colorful Envelopes) for students in class.

2. Teachers will put down those envelopes with A4 paper written down by students in a full-sized box in front of the class.

3. Group of students will have to queue and gather up choosing which envelopes colour they like.

4. Students will need to creatively shape their envelopes and cartoonize the envelopes based on their favourite fictional characters.

5. Once done with the envelopes, students need to listen to the teacher who will be explaining about the activity to students on way of conducting this activity verbally.

6. Students need to write down as long or as short as they want to depending to their creativity and interest. The only matter is the messages delivered to each other in class.

7. Students need to swap those envelopes to each different student accordingly and their names on the envelopes will help avoid confusion.

Surveys and Interviews - Speaking activity

  In the simplest form of classroom survey practice the teacher hands out ready made questions (4 questions) for each student around a topic that is being studied. Let's say the topic is get active. Each student could be given the same questions, or there could be several different  questions such as :- What's you favorite sport? Are you good at running? In your opinion, what's the easiest sport? Do you like cycling? Then each student partners with several others, one-by-one and asks them the questions on the paper. The student asking the questions will note down the responses from their peers. At the end of the session, students may be asked to stand up and summarize what they found out from their survey.
